Shahla Rahimi Reynolds

Shahla combines her early Mid-Eastern upbringing with her Western knowledge to create a dynamic fusion of sculpture forms. Her sculptures emphasize fluid grace, free flow, and on occasion abstract forms. Her stylistic tools include the hues and luminosity of the medium itself, whether it is alabaster, marble, clay or bronze.

PUBLIC ARTWORKS

Shehla's portfolio includes several major public artworks.

 "Just Another Day"

In 2000 the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association dedicated a memorial to the Fallen and Living Firefighters of Oklahoma. This project includes two pieces created by Shahla, "Just Another Day" and "Eternal Flame".

"Going Home"

In 2003, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation awarded her the I-40 Bridge Memorial, titled: "Going Home". This memorial honors the lives of 14 victims and 5 survivors of the I-40 Bridge collapse tragedy.

"Some Gave All"

This life size sculpture will be part of the Thunderbird Memorial Garden, honoring the 19 fallen members of the Oklahoma National Guard since 2001. The site is a commemorative sanctuary that will serve as a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

"They Gave Their Last Full Measure of Devotion"

This new project with The Oklahoma City Fire Department is currently under construction. The memorial was dedicated in 2017.
