Bryan Dahlvang

Education:

BFA, Oklahoma City University, 1997.

Since graduation, he has exhibited in over one hundred locations, and his artwork is in private collections around the world. Currently, Bryan works as a Graphic Designer for the Federal Aviation Administration. He enjoys contributing to aviation safety through visual means in aeronautical charting. His design skills have improved the look of Airmen Certificates (pilot licenses), and his commemorative posters have been hung in places like NASA’s headquarters, and even at the National Science Foundation’s South Pole Station. Bryan also enjoys traditional painting, photography, and participating in fund-raising Art shows.

He has taught Art lessons at the Oklahoma city Museum of Art, and at various Metro Libraries throughout Oklahoma. Most students enjoy his Junk Sculpture classes, where they learn valuable problem solving skills. His found-object assemblages tend to have a whimsical bent, but some are a bit more mysterious. With each resource, comes individual challenges, but sometimes the end result is rewarding (see Bryan’s award-winning “containers”).
