Collection: Silk Paintings

These are Ink on Silk paintings. Each color is added to silk individually and then they must dry before the next color is added. Once the design is complete, then it needs to be made permanent by either steaming the fabric or applying heat directly to the silk. After that, the painted silk is washed and let to dry.  The last step is to starch the silk onto a frame and secure it. The process creates paintings, which are bright, bold and vibrant, while being translucent. Placing a silk painting in front a light creates a new look from any of the designs, which makes them even more spectacular.
